In 2010, CoJo's journey as a professional recording artist began. In the beginning, originally, he started out as a Christian rapper. In 2013, after a few years of struggling to find his identity as an artist, he finally found his voice and crafted a signature sound on the microphone, which was ultimately solidified by one of his favorite producers in the music industry Mr. Warryn Campbell.

 

In 2017, his musical direction had completely shifted and transitioned away from the Christian genre. Which led him to embrace secular music. After 8 long years of hard work, pursuing dreams to successfully make it into the music industry, to hopefully one day sign a major recording contract, those dreams and aspirations never came to fruition.

 

The reason being is very simple, it was never God's will for him to deviate away from the true calling God had over his life. Only until recently, is when he finally realized the error of his ways, and at that very moment on October 6th, 2024 during a Sunday Ordination service at his church home The Faith Center, he heard directly from God exactly what his true purpose was. At that instant moment, he decided to surrender his life fully and give his amazing gift right back to God!

 

8 years ago, he transitioned away from the Christian community, 8 years later, he's progressively transitioning right back! The number '8' represents a new beginning! Back in January of this year, his favorite pastor, John Hannah, prophesied at his church. He had individuals pair up in groups of three's, and whomever the individual that had number 1 in the group (which was CoJo) essentially received this specific word from God simply stating this "GOD WILL GIVE YOU BACK THE LAST 15 YEARS OF YOUR LIFE AS A NEW BEGINNING"!

 

Well, his musical journey started 15 years ago, so that word was indeed accurate for him. Once upon a time, he mentally tapped out due to feeling like he wasted the best years of his life pursuing a dream that never became his reality. He gave up on himself because he thought in this world's standards he was "TOO OLD" to keep pursuing a career as a rap artist. So he convinced himself that his time had simply passed him by, but God spoke to him again reassuring him saying this, "NOPE, AIN'T NO AGE LIMIT ON THE GIFTS THAT I GIVE, MOST IMPORTANTLY THE BEST IS YET TO COME FOR YOU AND IT STARTS NOW"!

 

So for the past 8 months, he humbly sat down, stepped aside, and released EVERYTHING, giving away all of his previous music from the last 8 years. He seeked God more and basically started all over from scratch, creating a new musical catalog that brings us to this album right here!

 

Once upon a time, he was embarrassed to say that he was a Christian rapper, but once upon a time, he was lost, but the biggest difference this time around is that he's no longer lost but he's FOUND! CoJo found his purpose, and with that, he's back wiser than ever! This album is his personal payback to God, to his Christian community family, and to everyone who NEVER gave up on him! Similar to the Prodigal son who left home and later returned back, that's the story of this artist! He has finally returned back to his home to take his rightful place as a musical minister for Christ! And amongst his return, he's bringing back an amazing album full of classic dope smash hit music to represent the kingdom of God to the fullest, bringing his uniquely original sound to the forefront of the Christian rap scene!
